Onward…
Vox populi. The people have spoken. Donald J. Trump is to be the President of the United States of America from noon, January 20, 2025, until noon, January 20, 2029. Done.
In the tween time, all hope is for a safe and secure, prosperous and open nation wherein the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness remain foremost in the plans, policies and intentions of those to whom the reins of government will have been entrusted.
As for HonorfBound24, work remains. Founded in the turmoil of the most contentious national election in living memory, its purpose was to get beyond lies vs. lies to the essentiality of voters coming to an awareness of the forces driving the candidates. In a word, are they persons of honor? Indeed, should this not be the first question asked?
In a representative democracy such as we have, a nation’s sovereignty, its supreme political power, rests with its citizenry on whose honor the strength of the nation is ultimately based. Thus, it falls on the citizens to understand and require a sufficiency of honor among those seeking to lead it to ensure the nation’s continuing success.
So, two tracks open. Track I: Promoting a general appreciation among the citizenry of honor’s substantive role in the nation’s founding and the maintenance and strengthening of its well-being today. American democracy cannot succeed without it; it is only through honor that we can come to trust one another.
Track 2: Promote thinking in terms of honor, what it might look like in action and practice, of what a career and life of honor would consist. The leads found in the On Honor page of HR24’s site point the way here. The last of these - Honor is Wisdom Actualized - offers a venue to view honor as a more vibrant, practical thing, to look for it in others as a measure of their worth.
So, as above, American sovereignty rests on the honor of its citizenry as its success rests on the impact of its leadership. Leadership without honor is perilous at best, ruinous at worst.
